THE STORY ✦

where it started

Bad Cat is a small audio production collective that supports independent podcasters in their explorations of healing, wellness, community, and laughter.

Bad Cat was born in Ojai, CA as a passion project of Madeline Grass Doss in 2023. Madeline is an independent composer, musician, and sound designer who earned a bachelor’s degree in Music with a concentration in Contemporary Practices. Madeline is passionate about the power of storytelling and the value of deep conversation, leading her to delve into podcasting in addition to music-making. Over time, this passion project has grown into a small business, offering a full suite of audio production services.

why is it called “Bad Cat?”

Excellent question! Bad Cat was named because of our soft spot for kitties who many call bad, but we know that they are really just misunderstood. Find a blogpost that explains the full story here.

who we are

Here at Bad Cat, we are lovers of animals, the arts, and magic. From our content to our advertisements, we aim to bring something beyond just entertainment to our listeners. We harbor a community that feels safe, inclusive, sustainable, and intentional.

When independent creators in the witchcraft, energy healing, and inclusive spiritual spaces work with Bad Cat to make their podcast come to life, they get more than what they expect. They get more than a professionally edited podcast, excellent sound design, or an original music score. They get a new member of their community who is there to stand alongside them as they promote healing through the power of the spoken word.

At its core, Bad Cat is a safe space for pagans, witches, astrologers, energy healers, and all members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Owner/founder Madeline more than specializes in these topics, she lives by them each and every day.

If you have a small business, product, or service that aligns with our core values, do not hesitate to contact us regarding advertising on one of our podcasts. We want to share your stories as well as ours.

LGBTQ-founded, independent, inclusive podcasting, where energetic intention is infused in all that we do.
